Outset Festival 2012 PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 12 January 2012 10:50

Following the success of last year’s festival Outset returns in 2012 bigger, better and bolder. A diverse range of LGBT arts including comedy, drama, dance and more are celebrated during this exciting three day event at The Brewhouse Theatre & Arts Centre between Friday 10 – Sunday 12 February. The Sexes open the festival on Friday at 5pm with a provocative piece about a couple vying for the same gender unspecified film role. “Dark tinged but magical” comedian Bethany Black then headlines on Friday evening with her famous brand of confessional comedy. Saturday’s LGBT Community Event welcomes a host of local organisations to speak about LGBT issues and includes a variety of free workshops to try your hand at. The community event culminates in The Big Gay Debate at 5pm. Dapper gentlewomen O’Hooley & Tidow perform from their new album The Fragile at 8pm rounding off Saturday’s activities with their unique interpretation of chamber-folk. Sunday sees local lesbian theatre group Tallulah Theatre perform an incredible preview of their all female version of Romeo & Juliet rounding the weekend off in style. Tickets are available for individual events or as a festival pass for only £40
